Build the quote
Try a clearly fictional example, then enter your own person-hours, pay, travel and costs. Save the quote or copy a saved job as a new visit with blank actual hours.
Price the job with the costs that are easy to miss. Then compare the quote with the work it actually took.
Count owner pay. Include the drive. Keep your job records local.
Two people cleaning for two hours is four labor hours. Driving is time, too. Your own work deserves a cost before the rest is called profit.
Start with the fictional numbers, or enter your own. All figures use one currency and exclude sales tax and tips. Nothing is submitted.
A cleaning quote can look healthy until the visit takes longer than planned. Here is the same $200 job before and after a one-person-hour overrun.
In this fictional quote, cleaning takes 3.5 person-hours and paid travel takes another 0.5. At a loaded labor cost of $28.75 per person-hour, labor costs 4 × $28.75 = $115.00. The loaded rate already includes the assumed allowance beyond base pay.
Supplies of $8.00, vehicle cost of $10.40, and allocated overhead of $12.00 add $30.40. Payment processing at 2.9% of $200, plus $0.30, costs $6.10.
The estimated profit after those costs is $200 − $115 − $30.40 − $6.10 = $48.50. Divide profit by revenue: $48.50 ÷ $200 = 24.25% margin, displayed as 24.3%.
| Measure | Quote | Actual |
|---|---|---|
| Total person-hours | 4 | 5 |
| Labor at $28.75/hour | $115.00 | $143.75 |
| Other costs | $30.40 | $30.40 |
| Payment fees | $6.10 | $6.10 |
| Operating profit | $48.50 | $19.75 |
| Margin, rounded | 24.3% | 9.9% |
That extra person-hour costs $28.75, reducing profit to $19.75. The actual margin is $19.75 ÷ $200 = 9.875%, or 9.9% rounded. All other inputs stay the same in this example.
The useful habit: measure work and paid travel hours after each visit, then review repeat jobs against their estimates. This example demonstrates the arithmetic; it does not promise a particular margin or earnings result.
The downloadable version turns a one-off calculation into a repeatable job review. One self-contained HTML file, with a short walkthrough to get started. The app needs no subscription or store login.
Try a clearly fictional example, then enter your own person-hours, pay, travel and costs. Save the quote or copy a saved job as a new visit with blank actual hours.
After the visit, edit the saved job and enter both actual work and paid travel hours. Keep unfinished jobs separate and see how the hours changed the modeled result.
Save up to 1,000 jobs locally. Download backup keeps a restorable file. Restore backup checks and previews it before replacing the log, with temporary Undo. Print the current quote or log.
Model limit: estimated and actual hours use the same current revenue, pay, supplies, vehicle, overhead and payment-fee assumptions. Only work and travel hours differ. Changing shared costs updates both results; earlier cost assumptions are not retained. This is not a historical full-cost variance ledger.

The free estimator above handles one job. The full kit adds a reusable job log, actual-hours review, job copying, backup and restore, unsaved-edit protection, and printable views. Spreadsheet transfer is optional under Advanced.
The downloadable app has no network calls or analytics. It stores jobs in your browser's local storage. Download a backup regularly: browser data can be cleared, and records do not sync between devices.
In the paid kit's Job log, choose Download backup and keep the file somewhere safe. You do not need to open or edit it. Choose Restore backup to review the job counts and explicitly confirm replacement. Temporary Undo restore lasts until the next saved log change or the page closes. Backups from the original 1.0.0 kit are supported.
Enter total person-hours, including owner work. Two cleaners working two hours means four work person-hours. Use paid travel person-hours separately. Hourly pay plus your labor-burden assumption applies to both.
No. This is a job-pricing and operating-margin model. It does not calculate tax, payroll, compliance costs, invoices or accounting net income. Include the costs relevant to your own business and check the assumptions.
Use a current desktop browser for file imports, backups and printing. The layout also adapts to smaller screens. The full app opens from the downloaded HTML file, without installing software.
Optional Advanced spreadsheet tools accept the kit's documented import template. Other spreadsheets need mapping to those fields first. The app does not guess column meanings or claim compatibility with scheduling or accounting platforms. Ordinary backup and restore do not require learning a spreadsheet format.
Email enosdataworks@gmail.com with the kit version, your browser, the steps you took, and what happened versus what you expected. Use a fictional or redacted example rather than sending your full backup or customer details.
